What freerolls are really worth
Daily freeroll pools are usually tens to a few hundred dollars with fields in the thousands. In expected-value terms one freeroll is worth cents. Their purpose is learning the client, practising tournament rhythm, and trying All-in Insurance and the HUD at zero risk, not making money.
New accounts get newcomer freerolls with smaller fields and relatively larger prizes; they are worth playing in your first weeks. The $100 ticket package follows the same logic: cheap entry into events with real prizes.
Early freeroll play is extremely loose with constant all-ins. The simple plan: call all-ins only with premium hands early, then play normally once the field has halved.
Fee structure: what drives bonus release
A buy-in shown as $10 + $1 sends $10 to the pool and $1 to the fee. GGPoker's low buy-ins carry roughly a 10% fee; mid and high buy-ins about 5% to 8%. Fees are the basis for the welcome bonus release: every $5 in fees releases $1.
Three $11 events a day is about $3 in fees daily, roughly $270 over 90 days and $54 released. Tournament players depositing more than $60 usually do better with the $100 ticket package than the match.
WSOP Online: bracelets only on the GGNetwork
After NSUS Group bought the WSOP brand from Caesars Entertainment for $500 million in 2024, all online bracelet events moved to the GGNetwork. There is usually a summer series and an autumn series, with buy-ins from $50 to over $10,000.
For most players the route in is satellites: multi-step qualifiers from $0.50 to $50 that award seats. The Chinese-language edition shares these events with the global site, so players in Taiwan can enter directly.
Bounty Hunters and Flip & Go
Bounty Hunters is progressive knockout: part of the buy-in becomes a bounty on your head. Knock someone out and half their bounty is paid to you immediately while the other half joins yours. Late bounties often exceed the place payouts, so the strategy is more aggressive than in a standard MTT.
Flip & Go compresses the early stage into one all-in: three cards dealt, keep two, all-in to the flop. Survivors play a regular tournament. It suits players short on time, but the variance is extreme. Keep buy-ins under 1% of your bankroll.
Three rules for picking events
- Buy-ins at 1% to 2% of your tournament bankroll. MTT variance dwarfs cash games; bankroll discipline is what keeps you in the game.
- Look at field size and structure, not just the guarantee. At the same $11 buy-in a 500-runner event is far friendlier to amateurs than a 5,000-runner one.
- Events starting in Asian evening hours have softer fields. 20:00 to 01:00 Taiwan time is when Chinese-speaking players are most active.

Long sessions and high variance make it tempting to re-enter "to get even". Set a daily event cap and stop when the budget is gone. Taiwan has no local regulator; under-18s may not play. Taiwan's 1925 helpline is free and open 24 hours.

How are tournament fees calculated?
The fee is included in the buy-in. An $11 event usually sends $10 to the prize pool with $1 as the fee. Low buy-ins carry a higher fee percentage. Fees are what count toward the welcome bonus release.
Can tournament tickets be cashed out?
No. Tickets are valid only for events at the stated buy-in. If no matching event exists, some tickets can be converted inside the client to other events of the same value.
